LOCAL WEALTH CREATION
We are actively involved in the creation of a new financial services model that reflects sustainable development at different societal levels; from entire regions down to institutions, individual businesses and individual households.

We are taking circular economy principles and applying them to money circulation within the local economy; between organisations, businesses and individuals, in order to create windows, insights and reports into the way local economies operate and how effectively local money circulation in creating local wealth independence.

To do this we are working with our partners Shadowcat Systems Ltd to build robust interactive software platforms that allow businesses, social enterprises and households to keep track of the added value their spending creates for the local community in which they are based, and to which they have a commitment.

We seek to  assist creating the kind of healthy social fabric and stable and productive environment that makes it easy for individuals, businesses and organisations to operate sucessfully and with long-term stability.

We are currently undertaking a project for social enterprises and third-sector organisations in the Lancaster and Morecambe area that audits their local and non-local spend supplies and staff.
Money Modelling and General Financial Literacy Training

A recent addition to our services is the promotion of practical ideas, insights and observations as to how the money system works for ordinary people and local communities.

With digital services the saying goes that, if its free then you are the product. Understanding the way finances work is not really a case of learning how money works but how numbers work. Money being just the counter in an elaborate system that transfers values from one person, business or group to another. Put simply, money is really about doing maths on how we expend time and energy. To paraphrase the observation on free digital services, if you cant do money maths then someone else is running your life for you.

Our basic money literacy training provides you with a simplified but very real model of how economy currently works and how it should work for people. We host short training workshops on money and economy awareness and are currently  involved with the conception and running of a local money awareness process in Lancaster called the Food Loop Game.

The aim of the Food Loop Game is to show customers and retailers alike what difference it makes to the local economy, and by extension to them, when the actively spend in such a way as to keep their money circulating within the local food economy.
